This scheme is located in the town of Blandford St Mary which is a semi-rural village in Dorset immediately opposite the larger town of Blandford Forum, which is within a short walking distance of the site, connected by a footbridge over the River Stour.
The village grew up around the Badger Brewery, owned by Hall and Woodhouse, of which this site forms part.

Neighbouring Blandford Forum has two primary schools and a secondary school including a sixth form. A number of independent schools are also located near Blandford.
Blandford lies at the junction of the A350 and A354, where there are links to the wider region with good access to the Dorset towns of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to the southeast with Southampton further east and Dorchester to southwest.
