Can I sub-let my entire home?

No. Sub-letting your entire property is not allowed under your tenancy agreement.

Can I have lodger?

Yes – you can have a lodger live with you, as long as you do not over-crowd your home or sub-let the entire property.

If you are thinking about taking in a lodger, there's a few things to think about first.

  • Contact us to get permission. You’ll need to provide us with the lodger’s full name, date of birth, gender and relationship to you (if any).

  • Check whether it’ll affect your benefits or universal credit. If you are claiming housing benefit or Universal Credit, you must inform the housing benefit department at your local council.

  • Speak to your contents insurance provider to check everything’s still covered under your policy if you bring in a lodger.
