Can I sublet my entire home?
If you rent your home - No, subletting your entire property is not allowed under your tenancy agreement.
If you own all/part of your home - Please contact us explaining the reason why you'd like to sublet. We will need to check your lease to see whether this can be allowed. Please note there is an admin charge should this be approved.
Can I have lodger?
Yes – you can have a lodger live with you, as long as you do not over-crowd your home.
If you are thinking about taking in a lodger, there's a few things to think about first.
- If you rent your home, you'll need to contact us to get permission. You’ll need to provide us with the lodger’s full name, date of birth, gender and relationship to you (if any).
- Check whether it’ll affect your benefits or Universal Credit. If you are claiming housing benefit or Universal Credit, you must inform the housing benefit department at your local council.
- Speak to your contents insurance provider to check everything’s still covered under your policy if you bring in a lodger.
