The Met Office has issued several weather warnings, with hundreds of flood alerts currently in place across much of the UK. We want to reassure you that Stonewater is here to support you and provide guidance if your home is affected or you are concerned about the risk of flooding.
What you can do:
• Stay Informed: Check the latest weather and flood alerts for your area by visiting the Environment Agency website or calling Floodline on 0345 988 1188.
• Prepare Your Home: If flooding is likely, move valuables and essential items to higher ground, unplug electrical devices, and gather important items like medicines and documents in a waterproof bag.
• Stay Safe: Avoid walking or driving through floodwater, and follow guidance from local emergency services if evacuation is necessary.
• Protect Your Belongings: Check you have contents' insurance in case any of your belongings get damaged, and make sure you know where your policy documents are.
The most important thing to do is to make sure that you and your family remain safe.
