The children have painted sheep sculptures for the upcoming Shaun by the Sea trail in Brighton.

Children at a women’s refuge in Brighton and Hove are getting creative by painting sheep sculptures for the upcoming Shaun by the Sea trail.

The Shaun by the Sea trail is being organised by hospice charity Martlets and Wild in Art and will see 40 individually designed sculptures of Shaun the Sheep displayed across the city’s streets, parks and other public areas.

Nicola Lambe, Head of Domestic Abuse at Stonewater, said: "Our wonderfully caring team in Brighton and Hove are helping the children to paint Shaun ahead of the exhibition. The children have really taken to the challenge and it’s amazing to see them having fun in what can be a challenging time for them.

"The Shaun by the Sea trail is a fantastic idea and will raise lots of money for some great causes and we’re happy to be a part of it."

The Shaun by the Sea art trail will start on September 9 and last until November 5. The sculptures will then be auctioned off at the end of the exhibition to raise money for Martlets.
