Stonewater has entered into contract with Edenstone Homes to complete the building of 120 affordable homes in Hereford.
Edenstone will immediately start on site at College Road, on the former Holmer Trading Estate, after work was paused when the previous contractor fell into administration in 2023.
The team will focus on finishing the most complete homes first to move customers in as quickly as possible.
The scheme will consist of modular homes to be offered for shared ownership and affordable rent tenures. All homes will achieve at least a ‘B’ Energy Performance Certificate.
Matthew Crucefix, Director of Development (West & South West) at Stonewater, said: “Edenstone has consistently delivered high-quality homes across the South West of England and South Wales. It’s exciting to see work re-starting on site, moving one step closer to delivering the much-needed 120 affordable homes for local people in Hereford.
“After an unfortunate period of delay, we hope to welcome customers into their new homes as soon as possible.”
Glyn Mabey, Edenstone Group Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Stonewater on this project and we hope it marks the beginning of many successful collaborations.
“With over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality homes – including over 300 homes in Herefordshire alone – we’re excited to be part of this new initiative, providing sustainable homes which will benefit both the environment and the local community”.
