Stonewater and Edenstone Homes have entered into contract to complete construction of 90 affordable homes in Clehonger, Herefordshire.

Date published: 14 January 2025

The Madley Road site, in Clehonger, is the second development in the area that the
organisations are partnering on. Edenstone are currently building 120 affordable homes at
the nearby College Road site in Hereford.

With over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality homes, Edenstone will first focus on
finishing those nearest completion so customers can begin moving in as soon as possible.

The new homes at Clehonger will be offered across a variety of affordable tenures and will
achieve at least a ‘B’ Energy Performance Certificate rating.

The development will also benefit from a spacious public outdoor area, including an existing
orchard which is being revived for everyone to enjoy. Further green space will be created in
the form of an area for shrub planting, a wildflower meadow and a natural play area.

Matthew Crucefix, Director of Development (West & South West) at Stonewater, said: “I’m delighted to see work restart on 90 much-needed affordable homes in Clehonger.

“As an existing partner, Edenstone brings decades of experience in delivering high-quality
homes across the South West of England and South Wales and we are delighted to be
working with them on this scheme to get the homes completed.

“We look forward to welcoming customers into their new homes as soon as possible
following what has been an unavoidable but unfortunate period of delay.”

Glyn Mabey, Edenstone Group Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to enter into this
second development agreement with Stonewater and are committed to delivering quality
homes at the development.

“We look forward to delivering the development, including the new play area, and providing
families with a fantastic place to call home.”

Stonewater anticipates to have some of the homes handed over within the next few months,
progressing into phased handovers. The development is expected to be completed by
February 2026.
