Stonewater, one of the largest social housing providers in the UK, is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of delivering safe and affordable homes for customers across the country.
Formed on January 5, 2015, following the merger of Jephson and Raglan housing associations, Stonewater has since grown to manage 40,000 homes for over 93,000 customers.
Over the decade of operating, Stonewater has expanded its achievements to support customers, colleagues and the wider sector.
The organisation celebrated building its 7,000th newly built home since its formation in the summer of 2024, with the 8,000th new home milestone anticipated later this year. The Longleigh Foundation, the organisation’s independent charitable arm, was set up to help customers and communities overcome financial or social challenges they may face.
The Greenoak Centre of Excellence, which was set up in 2023 after Greenoak housing association joined the Stonewater Group, brings together partners, contractors, consultants and senior colleagues from across the sector to proactively discuss and share opportunities to collaborate on the path to net zero and decarbonisation.
To commemorate the anniversary, Stonewater is planning a series of activities across the year designed to celebrate achievements and engage with colleagues and customers.
Stonewater will launch a ’10 Years, 10 Stories’ series, which will share impactful stories from customers, colleagues and partners that reflect and demonstrate the Stonewater values. Meanwhile, in partnership with the Community Forest Trust, a commemorative tree will be planted as a lasting symbol of the anniversary.
Nicholas Harris, Chief Executive of Stonewater, said: “We are excited and proud to be celebrating our 10th anniversary, and we will be taking the time to celebrate and reflect on the progress we’ve made and the impact we’ve had on the lives of customers.
“This milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our colleagues, past and present, and we look forward to continuing to work towards our collective vision of everyone having the opportunity to have a place that they can call home.”
Stonewater has launched a dedicated emblem to symbolise the milestone and link together the anniversary activity, while a visual timeline has also been published to showcase Stonewater’s key achievements throughout the decade.
The celebrations will continue throughout the year and will culminate in a series of company day roadshows in the Autumn, where Stonewater colleagues will come together to commemorate the organisation’s achievements.
