Leading housing provider Stonewater has once again retained its top ratings G1 (governance) and V1 (financial viability) from the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH).
The RSH assess all registered housing providers against a range of criteria, using the information to provide external regulation ratings for governance and financial viability.
The ratings are the highest available of the four levels and demonstrate that Stonewater meets the governance requirements set by the regulator.
Nicholas Harris, Chief Executive of Stonewater, said: “In what continues to be challenging times for housing providers, it’s good to let our colleagues, partners and customers know that we have retained these judgements from the regulator and continue to be an adaptable and reliable organisation.
“The retainment of these top ratings is testament to the commitment and hard work of colleagues across the organisation and it is reassuring to know we continue to meet the highest possible standards of governance and financial viability.”
Since the previous rating confirmation, Stonewater has celebrated its 7000th new home since its formation in 2015 and has welcomed Surrey-based housing provider, Mount Green, to the Stonewater Group.
The organisation has also retained its Top 10 position in the Ethnicity Awards as an Outstanding Employer, while most recently achieving the SHIFT Gold environmental accreditation for the third year running.
Stonewater continues to set the benchmark for sustainable innovation in the sector through the Greenoak Centre of Excellence. Launched in 2023, the collaborative thought leadership initiative identifies and highlights to most effective routes to achieving a zero-carbon future.
Anne Costain, Stonewater’s Chief Financial Officer, said: “We are pleased to have maintained our valuable G1/V1 judgements from the RSH, despite the challenges facing the sector as a whole. These retained ratings are a demonstration of the hard work and commitment of our entire team.
“We know the times ahead will continue to be demanding, but our mission to offer good quality homes and services for people whose needs are not met by the open market remains at the heart of everything we do.”
