Stonewater and leading local housebuilder, Thakeham, have announced they are joining forces to deliver a new 39-property scheme on Goldbridge Road in Newick, East Sussex.

The development will comprise 24 private and 15 affordable homes on land that has been allocated for new housing. The homes will consist of a mixture of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses.

Marie Riordan, Director of Development (South & Central) at Stonewater, said: "Beginning work on site represents an important step in the creation of much-needed new and affordable homes in Newick. We have partnered with Thakeham on previous projects and enjoy a great working relationship, so we are excited to work together once more."

As well as featuring landscaped open space, this new scheme will also provide off-site improvements to the footpath along the A272, traffic calming measures and two new bus stops, one either side of the A272.

Rob Boughton, Thakeham CEO, said: "We are looking forward to working with Stonewater to build high-quality homes for all residents and are pleased to be delivering this scheme that will cater for the needs of the wider Newick community."

This new development is expected to be completed in late 2024 and represents the first corporate joint venture between Thakeham and Stonewater.
